New Happenings Mid-Year Report 2011

We Connected Productions, LLC have been asked to be apart of some exciting film projects over the next few months. It's been a little overwhelming, but we have been clear to all parties that our educational workshops are our top priority, along with extensive spec writing in both TV and Film. God-willing, we anticipate selling a screenplay within the next year and half.  We are also in the midst of forming new writing mentorship relationships both locally and in top-rated cities such as LA and NYC. Finally, we've been asked to take on a more active role in our church communication department by filming all special events.  This latest request is with great satisfaction considering one of our goals is to share our talents within the church.

As producers we have had multiple responsibilities both on and off set. We will continue to partner with filmmakers off-set by assisting in areas of script reading, location scouting, talent/crew postings, and consultation.  However, we will limit our presence on set during shooting days due to our impending work commitments.

Another issue of concern as a producer is on the topic of fundraising. The options are very limited considering many filmmakers currently make personal sacrifices by using credit cards, bank loans, and borrowing from 401K plans. Crowd sourcing on websites such as KickStarter and IndieGoGo have also proven successful when filmmakers can get family, friends, and strangers to give.  However, the impact of those websites increasing in popularity have led to a decrease in projects level giving because the pool of funders have not increased as rapidly. We plan to do some extensive research on other methods of fundraising so that we can better help SC indie artists successfully fundraise for their indie films, webseries, and TV projects.
