Here it is.  The latest webisode from our Take A Leap webshow!!

Do you agree with TJ Jazz statement of what African-Americans think of themselves? Do you believe jazz has lost it's original influence? We would love to read your comments.

  1. 1) I don't believe jazz music has lost it's original influence, I believe that many of today's artists are unaware of how the things they are influenced by were influenced by jazz.
    2) I wholeheartedly agree that African Americans' anger stems from the fact that we don't know who we are, most of us beyond our great grand parents. When you are told one thing about your history, not knowing what feats your ancestors accomplished before you, it does affect your self esteem. If we knew the queens, kings, entrepreneurs, activists, scientists and artists within our own lineage that we hail from, it would make a world of difference. <--I am in the middle of doing my family tree lol!

Keep on your grind ladies! Love your work and I am cheering for you!

    1. Thank you always for your support. I agree that today's artists are unaware as to the music they are performing came from...As far as the family tree lineage, I know the names of my Great grandparents on my mom side of the family and Great Great grandparents on my dad side of the family. However, I do not know their occupations, but know the values they instilled in my grandparents, which were then passed on to my parents. Finally to my siblings and myself. Hard work ethic, doing the best you can, positive attitude(optimistic), and helping others (giving back).
